fleamarket finds

My absolute favourite thing about living in Norway are the fleamarkets. I'm on fire at the moment with my finds.
I've found some amazing stuff lately (and developed an obsession with enamel kettles, esp of the Finnish variety!)
On Sunday not only did I find an  Iittala Aalto vase for 20kr but I also found another Finel kettle for 10kr and the Ikea rug that I ruined last year for 20kr. It was in perfect condition and I'm so happy to have those triangles back on my floor!
We also found some wooden outdoor chairs to keep at the cottage (will show you once we have tarted them up- they need a lick of paint) for 30kr each. Add to that some Figgjo Flint plates, 7 plant pots and a west german jug and you have a very satisfied customer!

  5. llse- September is the perfect time for fleamarkets as they are just starting up again! Visit loppemarked.info which lists all the fleamarkets all over Norway. There are not many listed for now, but come August the full list will be up! Good luck!

  7. Just discovered your blog via Seventy Tree and have spent some time scrolling through your posts. You take some stunning photos and your comments are a delightful insight into living in Norway. Recent Scandinavian detective series have raised the profile of your part of the world and it's interesting to read about it from the perspective of a Brit adapting to its idiosyncracies.

  12. Just Gai- thank you! Im pleased you are enjoying my blog! Krims krams is norwegian for "bits and pieces". Not a direct translation but thats what it means ( infact at the fleamarkets my favourite section is always the "krims krams" one!)

    Gratulerer! Lycke til!

I read your blog from the beginning in the last days. I was ill and couldn't get to work. So, it was a nice and interesting thing to read your blog. I'm from Switzerland and I'm learning Norwegian because I like this country so much!

    Have a great day!
