At home

Been sorting out all the fleamarket stuff and packing up some of the clutter (at Henrik's request boooo, hissssss!) He wants it out of the way until we have a bigger home so I had a big tidy to try and keep as much as I possibly can on display! All in all I'm lucky that Henrik does not have strong opinions about the style of our home (he would lose anyway cause I have really strong opinions of what I want!!) What about at your house?

  1. I feel for you! My Norwegian guy is the same (I think it is a norsk thing).
Whenever we want to buy something (esp in løppemarkeds), he tell me to think where we're gona put it. So I give up many things (we live in a small flat) :/

  2. Look at that teapot collection! Should I expect any less from a Brit? Funny you should talk about home decorating. My husband is VERY opinionated as far as style and placement goes- he wants everything to be 60s minimalist (which is fine, for the most part) and just this weekend, I was able to sweet talk him into helping me reorganize the furniture placement in the living room after having the same old for the past 3 years! He hates to admit when I'm right, but I think in this case, he'll have to cave in to the little lady in the house. Funny photo of Henrik- his legs look so BIG from that angle!

  3. I'm a collector and a tidy freak...how does that work? I rotate things in and out of the storage closet according to the season and what color I am liking at the moment.
I really love seeing your finds, though, so happy you share them with us. I ADORE crocheted pot holders!!!
(sometimes my comments show up as Dan...my DH, I hope I am Phyl today)

  4. Love your shelves!

My hubby is pretty much the same, he lets me decide at least the big picture. Though he does think that I buy way too many rag rugs at flea markets..

  6. I am sick to death of all the clutter we have... next time you're over, if you fancy sorting that out too, I'd happily let you ; )

With little nurturing over 10 years, Pete is very happy with our (my) taste.

Your place always looks so neat and beautifully curated!

  7. I collect crap too, apparently. If it was up to a certain someone (who's a Brit btw), we'd be living in white-painted minimalist boredom. With a huge flat-screen TV.

  8. I wish i could collect more things, its just that we live in a typical city apartment, with no extra space what so ever, I really hold back when buying things, purely for space reasons. I mean, with kids toys, husbands books, and my shoes...really leaves me with space for 4 plates, 4 mugs, 2 sauce pans...etc :p ...I only buy what I really really neeeeeed....but I am always & forever coveting ( your collection of finds is so beautiful and very tasteful so your hubby ought not to complain... ) :p !

  9. Ha Ha! This sounds like the regular conversation that we have with our husbands...we are a family of collectors and we figure that they knew that when we married them...so we are collecting them and they just have to fit into the display that we create!

  10. My husband is ok with my 'stuff' or 'props' as I like to call it, he lost sight of our cool minimal space a long time ago! Its me that gets a bit freaked out about it!
