Sunrise,Sunset and Inbetween

Norway might feel like a pain in the arse sometimes but it certainly is beautiful. It's hard to miss the sunrise each morning as it happens pretty late, 9.08am today, probably 3 minutes later tomorrow. The days are getting so short now. This weekend we will drive to Sweden to do some Christmas shopping, it only takes 90mins and is much cheaper than here, plus I love Sweden!

  1. I know, it's a drag how dark it is up here in the North all winter! You know what you should get though? One of those sunrise alarm clocks! It seems real clever - I think you can set it for a sunrise that begins, say, at 5 am and is complete two hours later, during which your bedroom gets gradually lighter. Nothing wrong with a little manipulation of daylight, I say.

As for the freezing cold, that's just plain crazy! I don't think I'd ever get out of the house!

Anyway, enjoy Sweden and make some bargains:O)

P.S. So sorry us Scandis don't know how to behave. I'm embarrassed to admit it, but I know exactly which lack of manners you're talking about.

  2. Hi Sarah, I have been contemplating one of those lamps (although it's not really a problem at the moment as I have no job to get up for!) What I find harder is the long evenings, by the time it's 7pm it feels around 11pm cause it's been dark for so long!
I also knew you would understand about the lack of manners, having lived in the U.S for so long!! I'll get used to it,I suppose!

  3. I absolutely love your blog. I lived for 5 months in Oslo last year (almost out in the woods) and I really miss it a lot. Lovely pics! Frost, snow and candles. How much more wonderful can it get?

  6. Beautiful pictures! It's really dark over here too, this time of the year can be a bit tough.

I love Sweden too, every chance I get I want to go there. It's been ages since I've been anywhere but in Haparanda though - that's the closest Swedish town to us and where the closest Ikea to us is.
