ho hum

Is anyone else sick and tired of winter? I'm fed up of going to work in the dark, wrapping up warm, heavy bulky footwear, terrible fruit and veg in the shops, dry skin and ice. I'm longing for norwegian strawberries, weekends at the cabin, fjord swimming, dresses and sandals and long warm days (oh and fleamarket season!)

  1. I'm counting the days till Spring. First day of Spring is also my birthday so double looking forward to it. PS Oslo city is beautiful, went there in December and fell completely in love.

  2. Hi lizzy- im glad you liked Oslo, you must have been somewhere I have not been as I feel Oslo is such a dreary city! I wish Oslo was Bergen!

  3. As for wearing wool: I myself have caved to the Norwegian way. I wear wool leggings and wool undershirt (cami, short sleeve or full long sleeve) nearly every day, thanks to grocery store brand Pierre Robin! But I do feel like I've gained about 10lbs just due to layers.

  4. I love love love winter! It is beautiful and this year isn't even that cold. Plus snow is much better than rain.
Enjoy it while it lasts! :)
I think Oslo is much prettier than Bergen and there's much more things to do here in Oslo. (Bergen is like a small fishing town, Oslo is more like an international city.)

  5. Anonymous- when you have lived in London for the last 18 years Oslo feels like a small town! I think Bergen has far more charm than Oslo. Winter for me(in my opinion, that is) is waaaaaaay too long and cold and im desperate for summer.

Emily- the 10lbs you feel you have gained from all your wool underclothes I have actually really gained in weight!

  6. This morning (as I pulled on my wool long underwear) I realized that I wrote "Pierre Robin" brand, instead of "Pierre Roberts". It's only funny because Pierre Robin is a medical/physical condition when one's chin is incredibly recessed that baby's have difficulty keeping an open airway. Good to know I haven't completely lost my medical conditions. . .
