The journey

I loved the train we travelled to Bergen on, so old fashioned and romantic! The people on the train were so friendly and the 7.5 hours passed pretty quickly. I was befriended by a 10 yr old norwegian girl (travelling alone!) who wanted to practise her english with me so I tried talking to her in norwegian as she spoke to me in english (she then told me that not only was my norwegian accent funny but my british accent was strange also!!) She went on to tell us she was suffering from an upset tummy and every time she went off to the loo she would describe the consistency of her poo on her return!!! Who says norwegians are closed and reserved??

  1. So funny! You have to love kids for their honesty! Lovely pics, Norway looks beautiful.

  2. Looks like you had an amazing time - the photos are stunning. Just thinking about a 10 year old child travelling on their own brings me out in a cold sweat - my eldest is ten in a fortnight's time and it only feels like yesterday that she was celebrating her first birthday! x

  3. Haha, that little girl sounds a right character! Don't think I'd let my 10 year old Maisie travel alone, but still, everyone's different! Glad you had such a lovely time in the tropics! x

  4. Poor thing (stakkers jenta!) traveling alone with an upset tummy! That is funny though. . . and see: you did get a little Norwegian practice in!

  5. Hahaha. That's a funny friend you got there.

I too love the train ride between Bergen and Oslo. Especially the part from Voss to Finse. Got to love the mountains!
