Arghhhhhhhh

Some days this bloody country makes me want to pull my hair out!
Being British in Norway has no advantages at all, if I was from anywhere else in the world
I'd be sorted here but the Brits get put to the bottom of the pile. My country looked after Henrik for nine years but his cannot return the favour- doctors, dentists etc gave him all the services he needed, but six months down the line, married to a norwegian, I still don't exist here (according to the government)

Oh, but on the good news front, we are about to enter into Loppemarked (fleamarket) season!!!! Yipeeeeeee!

  1. I know the feeling only too well...but trust me, being German and trying to live in the UK (and especially buying a house there) is a pain in the backside as well :-(

  3. Hopefully the flea markets will work magic for you...and until then enjoy being 'invisible'...you could act like Maude from the film Maude and harold until they discover you exist...have fun being naughty!

  6. Thank your lucky stars you did not move to Denmark, they are even stricter about immigration! I left before I was even in the system!
Love your blog,by the way. Keep fighting!

  8. Surely having most excellent flea markets must count for something ? I mean, scoring Scandinavian design on the cheap should be worth some troubles ;-)
But seriously, I know what you mean. One would think, in this day and age, in Europe, for Europeans, moving around would be easy... but in truth, it's a terrible procedures and admin mess! Fingers crossed your situation will get sorted out quickly.

  9. Nah - that's not because you're British - it's because you're married to a Norwegian.

My husband and a whole lot of other people I know who married Norwegians had to go through 'the long wait' as well. All other foreigners get priority. It's ridiculous.
