The fleamarket we went to on Saturday was full of great treasures (no wonder those Norwegians were whacking each other out of the way in order to get in first!) I managed to find some candlesticks (iittala I think) Figgjo Flint egg cups, a milk glass to match my Swedish milk and a lovely table cloth (I dont have a round table but what the hell, I could not resist the Marimekko style design!) I also managed to snag many English books (so expensive in book shops here) and Henrik found a brand new bike helmet, all for under 200kr (around 20 quid!)

I think that they tablecloth may be a "Christmas tree carpet" - one to let your Christmas tree stand on? I can't estimate the size of the cloth from the photo and I may be wrong, but I think I've seen something similar being used for that purpose?
ReplyDeleteKatrine- I think you are right! I put it on the table as a cloth and Henrik starting laughing, telling me, "you cant put that on there, its only September and it's for Christmas!" (only I dont think he realised it was to sit the christmas tree on either!)
